In another page, Overview of the Volume License Serializer (see ), it says “You can't use the VL Serializer for Office 2019 for Mac to activate a volume licensed version of OfficeĢ016 for Mac” which seems to contradict the statement from the deployment options for Mac page. I've tried this on Macs running licensedĬopies of Office versions 16.11 to 16.16 and get the same result. I've tried this but when I try using the 2019 serializer with a licensed version of Office 2016 from the VLSC, it just leaves the software unlicensed rather than allowing it to update past version 16.16. Moreover there´s a MicrosoftOffice2019VLSerializer. Ofcourse you can prove me wrong by sending me a link and i will come on here and public admit I was wrong. You just need to download the 2019 version of the Volume License Serialiser from the VSLC and deploy it to each computer running Office 2016 for Mac." The VL version of Office 2019 can be activated.
In the web page Deployment options for Office for Mac (see ) it says "If you're a volume licensed customer, youĬan upgrade to Office 2019 for Mac without uninstalling Office 2016 for Mac.

And you should be able to simply install the serializer over your 2019 serializer. 16.53 was the first of the Office 2021 generation, so it any version higher than that you can apply the 2021 LTSC serializer. Both versions install fine and their respective serializers activate the licences ok. Run the Volume License Serializer package file on each computer that you'll be installing the Office for Mac product on. With Office 2019 products for Mac, you cant download the Office installation files directly from the VLSC. Only if the installed software version supports that license. Office has been downloaded from the VLSC. I would like to upgrade Office on our Macs from 2016 to 2019.
